Zhuxian Township, subordinate to Wushan County, Chongqing City, is located in the northeast of Wushan County, bordering Badong County, Hubei Province in the East, Luoping town in the south, Pinghe Township in the West and North, 53 kilometers away from Wushan County Government, with a total area of 98 square kilometers.
Before 1949, Zhuxian Township belonged to the first district; in April 1984, it was changed from Zhuxian commune to Zhuxian township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Zhu Xian township was 5468. As of June 2020, Zhuxian rural area has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in group 1 of Fuping village.

In April 1953, Zhuxian township was divided into two townships, Guanqi and Zhuxian.
In March 1955, Lianghe township was merged into Zhuxian township.
In October 1958, Zhuxian township was changed into Zhuxian commune.
In April 1984, Zhuxian commune was changed into Zhuxian township.
