Shichuan Town, belonging to Yubei District of Chongqing, is located in the east of Yubei District, bordering LUOQI town in the East, Longxing town in the south, Gulu town in the West and Tongjing town in the north. It is about 33 kilometers away from the people's Government of Yubei District, with a total area of 129.7 square kilometers.
During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1662-1722), the shipyard was set up in the territory of Shichuan town; in September 1991, it was changed from Shichuan town to Shichuan town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town was 65416. As of June 2020, Shichuan town has 3 communities and 25 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Shichuan town is located at 188 Shitong street.

History of construction
In the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1662-1722), the shipyard was first built, belonging to the third class of Renli in Jiangbei Hall of Chongqing; in the 33rd year of Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1907), laogua shipyard was incorporated into the shipyard.
In 1913, it was subordinate to Renli, Jiangbei County. In 1929, it was established in Shichuan Town, which successively belonged to the first, second and third districts of Jiangbei County. In September 1949, Shichuan town was changed into Shichuan Township, belonging to the second district.
On November 30, 1949, it belonged to the Second District of Jiangbei County.
In October 1958, Shichuan Township and Shilong Township were merged into Shichuan commune.
In May 1983, the stone boat commune was changed to stone boat village.
In September 1991, Shichuan township was changed to Shichuan town.
In January 1994, Ma'an township (Shilong township) and Meixi Township were merged into Shichuan town.
In December 2007, Maliutuo town was merged into Shichuan town.
