Hangu town
Hangu Town, subordinate to Jiulongpo District of Chongqing, is located in the north of Jiulongpo District. It is adjacent to Geleshan town of Shapingba District in the East, Baishiyi town in the south, Jinfeng town in the West and Xiyong town of Shapingba District in the north. It is 16 kilometers away from the people's Government of Jiulongpo District, with a total area of 29.5 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, the area around Hangu town was hanguli, Baxian County; in December 1993, it was changed from Hangu township to Hangu town. By the end of 2019, there were 23 thousand registered residence households in the valley town. As of June 2020, Hangu town has one community and nine administrative villages, and the people's Government of the town is located at No. 36, Hanxing road.
In 2018, there were 106 industrial enterprises in Hangu Town, including 25 above scale and 41 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, the area around Hangu town was hanguli in Ba County.
In the 46th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1707), it belonged to the fourth class of Zhili.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), hanguchang was regarded as a township level administrative district. In 1929, it was called hanguli. In June 1930, Hangu township was built. In 1935, Hangu township was changed to Hangu joint protection. In 1940, Xigu township was built together with Xiyong Lianbao. In 1941, Xigu township was divided into Hangu Township and Xiyong township.
In September 1958, Hangu township was changed into Hangu commune.
In February 1959, it was renamed Hangu management area
In December 1960, it was renamed Hangu commune.
In May 1982, it was changed from Hangu commune to Hangu township.
In December 1993, it was changed from Hangu township to Hangu town.
In March 1995, it was transferred from Banan District to Jiulongpo District.

Liangtan River in Hangu town is a secondary tributary of Jialing River System on the North Bank of the Yangtze River, with a total length of 4.8 km. From south to north, it flows from Baishiyi town to Hangu Town, Xiyong Town, Shapingba District, and then to Jialing River.
natural disaster
The main natural disasters in Hangu town are drought and landslide caused by rainstorm. Drought mainly occurs in June to August. One of the serious landslides caused by rainstorm occurred on the hillside of Hanjin village in July 2007, which destroyed some houses and roads and caused direct economic loss of more than 2 million yuan.
