Luoping farm

Luoping farm is located in the south of Luoding City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Taiping Town and Luoping town. When it was built in 1959, it covered an area of 36000 mu. After it was transferred to Luoding County, the county government allocated most of the land to reservoir immigrants for farming. By the end of 2015, the total area of the farm was 2300 mu, including 1100 mu of mountainous land, 150 mu of paddy field, 500 mu of orchard land, 150 mu of fish pond, 100 mu of Homestead Land, etc.

Luoping farm is at the junction of Luoping town in the southeast, Taiping Town in the west, Shizi hillside in the north, 27 km away from Luoding city. Provincial highway s369 runs through the whole area from east to west.

Historical evolution

Luoping farm was founded in November 1959. At that time, it was one of the fifteen farms directly under the central government established by the Department of agricultural reclamation of Guangdong Province. Luoping Farm Committee of the Communist Party of China was established on September 29, 1966. It was put under the jurisdiction of the people's Government of Luoding County in December 1969. Now it is a bureau level organizational unit. Its full administrative name is Luoding state-owned Luoping farm, referred to as Luoping farm. Luoping farm has been under the jurisdiction of Luoding municipal Party Committee since it was delegated to Luoding county. The deployment of personnel, the reform of wages and the deployment and assessment of various work are carried out simultaneously with the township. The sources of wages and other funds are paid by the finance. In reality, it performs administrative functions and belongs to the administrative (town) bureau level unit. Luoping farm was formerly known as Luoping commune pig farm in Luoding county. Covering a total area of 8 square kilometers, there are 1361 mu of paddy fields, 1350 mu of dry land, 33000 mu of barren mountains, barren land and water surface, with 338 households and 1846 people. In 1962, the leaders of the Provincial Department of agriculture and reclamation came to inspect the farm, re approved the scope of the farm, and confirmed the farm as one of the 15 provincial state farms, which was under the management of the Farm Management Bureau directly under the Provincial Department of agriculture and reclamation. On July 15, 1969, the Provincial Department of land reclamation delegated Luoping farm to Luoding county. In August 1971, Luoping farm was merged with the "May 7th" cadre school in Luoding county and renamed "May 7th" farm in Luoding county. In January 1974, it was changed to Luoping farm in Luoding county. At the end of 1985, there were 198 cadres and workers, 185 mu of arable land, more than 100 mu of fish ponds, 55 mu of mulberry fields, 3 trucks and buses, 1 oil press room, 1 gas station and 1 comprehensive store. In October 1993, Luoping farm was renamed Luoding state-owned Luoping farm. In 2003, Luoping farm set up an office, family planning office, public security office, agriculture office and accounting office. It has five production teams with a total population of 592, including 20 current cadres and 55 retired cadres. Since the 1970s, Luoding Daxing water conservancy and hydropower construction, Luoping farm has allocated more than 12300 mu of mountainous area and 2340 mu of paddy field to more than 3000 farmers in Luoguang reservoir, Yunli reservoir and Xiangdong reservoir area, and established Xinguang and Xincun management areas, which are under the jurisdiction of Luoping town. In 1978, there were only 888 mu of arable land. In 1986, another primary school was allocated to Xinguang management area of Luoping town free of charge. Since then, only 1123 mu of sloping land, 107 mu of paddy fields and 150 mu of fish ponds have been left in Luoping farm. Economic situation
