Shuitai town

Shuitai town is subordinate to Xinxing County of Guangdong Province, 30 kilometers away from the county. It connects Jiangmen Heshan City in the East, zhuzhong River economic circle in the south, Jiangmen Kaiping City in the south, Rencun town in the west, Gaoming District in the north and Guangfo Zhaoqing economic circle in the north.

Historical evolution

Shuitai was called Shutai in ancient times, because the terrain is like a Shutai. The Ming Dynasty was the capital of Xinxing County, and the late Qing Dynasty was the Second District of Xinxing County. In 1934, it was renamed shuitai. since October 1949, it belongs to the second district. In August 1955, the second district was changed into Rencun district. Shuitai township was established in 1957 and merged with Rencun village and Dongcheng Township into Dongfeng commune in October 1958. In January 1959, Dongfeng commune was renamed Rencun commune. In June of the same year, shuitai commune was separated from Rencun commune. In 1979, shuitai commune governed 10 brigades. in August 1983, the community construction area was withdrawn and called shuitai District, and the brigade was changed to township. in March 1987, the district was removed to build a township, which was called shuitai township. In February 1993, shuitai township was renamed shuitai town.
