Jingnan town

Jingnan Town, subordinate to Xingning City, Guangdong Province, is located in the east of Xingning City, adjacent to HESI Town, Shuiche town and Nankou town of Meixian District in the East, Yonghe town in the west, Xinxu town and HESI town of Meixian District in the south, and Shima town in the north. The total area is 144.14 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, the total population of Jingnan town was 23604. By 2019, Jingnan town has jurisdiction over one community and 24 administrative villages, and the town government is stationed in Jingnan community.

Jingxin began to establish the grass-roots political power and set up the Public Security Bureau in 1908. In 1961, Jingnan commune was separated. In November 1983, today's Jingnan town is divided into Jingxin and Jingnan district offices. In June 1987, today's Jingnan town is divided into Jingnan Township and Jingxin town. In September 1993, the township system was abolished and seven townships were renamed towns. Today, Jingnan town is divided into Jingnan town and Jingxin town. In November 2004, with the consent of the people's Government of Guangdong Province, Jingxin town was abolished in Xingning City, and the original administrative region of Jingxin town was merged into Jingnan town. Jingnan town has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, more sunshine, long frost free period, high humidity and mild climate, which is suitable for the growth of a variety of crops.

In 2017, the gross industrial and agricultural production of Jingnan town reached 530 million yuan, and the general budget revenue reached 1.4802 million yuan, an increase of 42.2% year on year.

Historical evolution

Jingxin began to establish the grass-roots political power and set up the Public Security Bureau in 1908.

The revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty. In 1912, the grass-roots government followed the Qing Dynasty.

In 1920, the regional administration was established.

In April 1949, Jingxin was liberated. In May, the District People's government was established. In September of the same year, Jingxin was liberated forever.

In 1950, Jingxin was the Ninth District of Xingning.

In 1951, it was the 13th District People's Government of Xingning.

In 1958, it became Jingxin commune.

In 1961, Jingnan commune was separated.

In November 1983, the Standing Committee of the Sixth People's Congress of Xingning County deliberated and approved the "plan for removing social organizations into districts and building townships", and decided to change the "political and social integration" system. The county has 28 district offices and 1 town. Today, Jingnan town belongs to Jingxin District Office and Jingnan district office.

In June 1987, according to the Guangdong provincial government's "reply on Abolishing the establishment of township (town) system in Xingning county's district offices", Xingning County reformed its administrative system by abolishing 29 districts (towns) and establishing 22 towns and 7 townships. Today, Jingnan town belongs to Jingnan Township and Jingxin town respectively.

In September 1993, the township system was abolished and seven townships were renamed towns. Today, Jingnan town is divided into Jingnan town and Jingxin town.

In November 2004, with the consent of the people's Government of Guangdong Province, Jingxin town was abolished in Xingning City, and the original administrative region of Jingxin town was merged into Jingnan town.

It flows through Zhangyin, Huangkeng, Guanting, Dongsheng, Baishi, and finally flows into HESI Taiping temple, Meixian County, with a total length of 7300 meters and a width of 20 meters. Mazhang river originates from chaziao, Mashan mountain in the northwest, flows through pinggong, Weixia, Zhangfeng, and flows into Meixian Taiping temple is 12000 meters in length and 10 meters in width; Lusheng river originates from the foot of Baoshan mountain and joins with the Xiaozhen water of hetangtang, converges at zougong temple, flows through Baoshan, Baoxing, Xinzhou and Lusheng Shuikou, and flows into the south entrance of Meixian County. It is 10000 meters in length and 10 meters in width.

History and culture

Yongzheng bestows birthday lucky

On December 20, 1734, the 12th year of Yongzheng reign in Qing Dynasty, Yang Yongbin, governor of Guangdong Province, wrote a report to Xingning county that the people were lucky enough to be transported. They were 102 years old and were rewarded according to the system. After reading the music, Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty ordered to reward the emperor with a piece of satin and ten liang of silver. The next year, a plaque of "Shengping Renrui" was awarded, which is still in good condition. As the old saying goes, sixty sticks in the village, seventy sticks in the township, eighty sticks in the Yamen and ninety sticks in the dynasty are fine traditions of respecting the elderly in China. As a civilian, it is rare to receive this honor in the history of Meizhou.
