Hongyang farm, a medium-sized state-owned enterprise, was established in the spring of 1952 under the General Administration of land reclamation of Guangdong Province. At present, the total population is 1424 (in 2010), including 502 employees, 2042 retirees and a total land area of 7. It has an area of 30000 mu, a usable land area of 50000 Mu and 42 production teams. There is a primary and secondary school and a hospital.

Hongyang farm is located in the west of Guangdong Province, southwest of Maoming City and Huazhou City, bordering Maoming City, Zhanjiang City and Yulin city of Guangxi, and adjacent to Hedi Reservoir. It has a subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of more than 21 degrees and abundant rainfall of 1700-1900 mm. The soil and climate of our farm are very suitable for planting rubber and subtropical fruits, and the natural environment is unique. Hongyang farm implements the economic development strategy of "hope lies in land, way out lies in land, wealth lies in land", and develops and produces high-tech agricultural products such as red carambola, seedless chicken heart yellow skin, guava, litchi, longan, etc. Hongyang brand red carambola, seedless chicken heart and yellow skin edge Lianying, the fourth and fifth "famous brand products of China International Agricultural Expo" and "Gold Award of Chinese specialty", have become the only Chinese famous brand of Carambola Series in China. The enterprise is named "China Red carambola town", "China specialty town development and construction excellent enterprise". Hongyang farm now has a fruit area of 1359 hectares, with an annual output of 6500 tons of fruit. It is the largest production base of red carambola in China, and has a provincial standard demonstration area. Hongyang farm, through adjusting development ideas, adhering to the scientific outlook on development, finds out new economic growth points, comprehensively develops the third generation of rubber, and builds a new generation of standard rubber garden. In 2005, it planted 1300 mu of new rubber, and in 2008, it planted 10000 mu of new rubber. After putting into production, the total output of dry rubber reached 1000 tons, becoming a high-yield and high-quality rubber production base of our farm.
