Dongbali Township, belonging to Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the west central part of Huailai County, bordering Shacheng town in the East, dahuangzhuang town in the south, xinbaoan town in the west, and Cunrui town in the north. It is 6 kilometers away from the people's Government of Huailai County, with a total area of 25.3 square kilometers.
In July 1953, dongbali township was established; in August 1958, dongbali township was incorporated into xinbaoan commune; in May 1984, dongbali commune was changed into dongbali township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the East eight mile township was 10707. As of June 2020, dongbali village governs one community and six administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in dongbali village.

In August 1958, dongbali township was incorporated into xinbaoan commune.
