Shatoujiao street, belonging to Yantian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Yantian District, covering an area of 6.068 square kilometers. Historical evolution
Shatoujiao street gets its name from "sunrise, Shatou, moon hanging on Haijiao".
In October 1949, Donghe township was established in Shatoujiao.
In April 1950, Shatoujiao became the Second District of Bao'an county.
In October 1952, it was renamed the Sixth District.
In 1954, Shatoujiao town was added to the Sixth District.
In 1961, Shatoujiao commune was set up, which belongs to Henggang district.
In May 1970, Shatoujiao commune was abolished and Yantian commune and Shatoujiao town were restored.
In June 1980, Shatoujiao district was established. In August of the same year, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was established. Shatoujiao was included in the special economic zone.
In October 1984, the Shatoujiao District Office was transformed into a management district.
In January 1990, Shatoujiao management area was merged into Luohu District.
In November 1997, it was separated from Luohu District and under the jurisdiction of Yantian District.
On June 18, 2002, Shatoujiao town was abolished and two sub district offices, Shatoujiao and Haishan, were established.

History and culture
Shatoujiao has a long history, simple customs and unique charm of Hakka culture, and because of its special geographical location, it has become a collision point between China and the West. The origin of place names
Shatoujiao is a special border town in the South Gate of China. It is said that a minister of the Qing Dynasty once came to Shatoujiao for inspection. Facing the rippling Dapeng Bay and the silvery sand beach, he improvised to chant "the sunrise of Shatou, the moon hanging on the sea corner". Hence the name of Shatoujiao.

Sha tou horned fish Lantern Dance

Tianhou Bao's birthday ceremony is a folk activity in shalanxiao village, Shatoujiao Town, Yantian District, Shenzhen city since the Qing Dynasty. The ancestors of Shalan frightening village and six villages in the new territories of Hong Kong were Hakkas who migrated from Guangdong, Jiangxi and Fujian in the early Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.
