Tangshi town
Tangshi Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Guiyang County, Hunan Province, is located in the northwest border of Guiyang County. The total area of the town is 110.76 square kilometers (2017), with 20138 mu of cultivated land, including 15734 mu of paddy field, 9825 people (2017), 1 community, 17 villager committees and 225 villager groups. With convenient transportation and provincial highway 323 passing through, the town is the first stop for Yongzhou City to enter Chenzhou City, known as "Chenzhou northwest window" and "Guiyang northwest gate".
Tangshi town has obvious advantages in transportation and resources. It is the material and information exchange center of the surrounding seven towns. The territory is rich in antimony resources, starting from damaoling in the north, reaching Qianqiu in the south, Shuiwei in the East and Yangwan in the west, with a mining area of 9.6 square kilometers. Antimony was mined in 1965 and 1416 tons of antimony was produced in 1988. After the completion of Jinling and Xianjiang reservoirs, the farmland of the whole township will be protected from drought and flood.
Historical evolution
Tangshi township was established in 1950, under the jurisdiction of four districts of Guiyang County. In 1958, for the Tangshi brigade, belongs to the Sili people's commune. In 1961, it was established as the people's commune of Liufeng district. In 1984, the commune was withdrawn and Tangshi township was restored. In September 1993, the township was removed to build a town.
