ZOUMAPING Bai nationality township is a minority Township under the jurisdiction of Sangzhi County in Zhangjiajie City. It is located in the east of Sangzhi County, bordering on Mihu Township in the East, konggushu Township in the south, maidiping Township in the West and renchaoxi Township in the north.
Historical evolution
Name and origin
ZOUMAPING used to be an ancient salt road up to Sichuan and down to Dongting. Once upon a time, there were mule and horse bells, and there were a lot of merchants in the past. Here Yiping is the place where mule and horse add grass and merchants relax. Hence the name ZOUMAPING.
Evolution of organizational system
The Republic of China belongs to Daquan township. In 1952, it belonged to yejiaqiao township. In 1958, xiangjiaping village, Tianhe Village, guizhuya village, liangchaxi village and zhangjiaya village were transferred from Cili to Sangzhi, belonging to Liaoyuan commune. ZOUMAPING commune was established in 1961, changed to ZOUMAPING Township in April 1983, and became ZOUMAPING Bai Township in September 1984. In April 1995, zhuyeping Bai township was merged, and ZOUMAPING Bai township was restored in October 1998.
