Dajinggang town is located in the western suburb of Anxiang County, Changde City, Hunan Province, adjacent to the Songzi River and connected with the first bridge of Chengguan town. The town covers an area of 34.09 square kilometers, with a total population of more than 48000 people (in 2015), and governs 9 communities and 6 villages (in 2019).

Dajinggang town is the old industrial base of Anxiang, where many well-known enterprises have settled down and developed. Among them, the local enterprise Hunan Jinggang meat food processing Co., Ltd. produced the "Futian" brand series of herbivorous pork processed food, which won the gold award of the Provincial Agricultural Expo. As one of the two planned counties, one park, Hexi industrial new area, the county Party committee and the county government attach great importance to the development of dajinggang Town, and put forward the target slogans of "integration of Chengguan area" and "coordinated development on both sides of the river", striving to build dajinggang town into a new industrial town with beautiful environment, complete infrastructure and harmonious society as soon as possible.

Historical evolution

In 1951, it belonged to the Fifth District. In 1956, it was Anfeng township. In 1958, it belonged to Baoan commune. In 1977, it was set up as big whale harbor town. In 1996, it covers an area of 6.6 square kilometers and has a population of 14000. The town government is located in dajinggang and has jurisdiction over four neighborhood committees, namely Dawan, Xiaowan, Jinggu and Yongle, and two administrative villages, Xicheng and fengninggang. In 2005, it covers an area of 8.1 square kilometers and has a population of 13800. It has jurisdiction over four neighborhood committees of Jingyu, Xiaowan, Dawan and Yongle, and two administrative villages of Xicheng and fengninggang.

In 2008, pianhuzhou and wuhejiao administrative villages and fengninggang forest farm in Anfeng Township, and Gufeng and Qijia administrative villages and zhongdock community in Anyu Township were put under the jurisdiction of dajinggang town. After the adjustment, dajinggang town has jurisdiction over 5 communities and 4 administrative villages, with a total area of 2707 square meters and a total population of 22100.

In 2011, the administrative villages of Xin'an and Anqing in Anyu Township and the administrative villages of dongnanzhou and yongheyuan in Anfeng Township were put under the jurisdiction of dahuigang town. After the adjustment, dahuigang town has jurisdiction over 5 communities and 8 administrative villages, with a total area of 34.09 square kilometers and a total population of 28900.

In 2015, Anyu Township and dajinggang town were incorporated into an organic system to establish dajinggang town. After the adjustment, dajinggang town has jurisdiction over 16 villages including dongnanzhou, pianhuzhou, Xin'an, Gufeng, Anqing, yongheyuan, Huaixi, sanzui, Wuyang, youxinyuan, Tongqing, Xinhekou, Wuyi, shuangqikou, yifenju and qiangkou, and 9 community neighborhood committees including Yongle, Qijia, fishermen, Xicheng, Xiaowan, fengninggang, wuhejiao, huaipuyuan and Changxin, with a total area of 88.93 square kilometers and a total population of 20 The town people's government is stationed in the big whale port.
