Yunhuqiao town is subordinate to Xiangtan County, Hunan Province. It is adjacent to jiangshe town and Xiangtang Township in the East, Shitan and yangjiaqiao towns across Yunhu River and Lianshui River in the south, Xiangxiang City and Shaoshan City in the west, Daolin town and datunying town in Ningxiang County in the north.

Historical evolution
Yunhuqiao was under the jurisdiction of Xiangnan County before the two Jin Dynasties. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, Xiangnan county was withdrawn and merged into Xiangxi County in the Qi Dynasty, and Xiangtan County was established in the Liang Dynasty. It was a Hou state and belonged to Xiangdong county. Since then, Yunhu bridge has been a capital of 39. In 1381, the county was divided into 20 capitals, which were divided into eight townships, two lanes, two lanes, and nineteen Li. Yunhuqiao belonged to Yifeng township. In the late Qing Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, Xiangtan County was divided into four townships and seventeen districts according to its size and population. The western region of Lianshui was Xixiang, and the former seven capitals were under the jurisdiction of two districts. In 1932, the Baojia system was implemented, the West District 2 was merged into the Ninth District, and yunhuqiao township was subordinate to the ninth district. In June 1938, the district was abolished and the township and town areas were expanded. Yunhuqiao belonged to Yintian township. Since March 1, 1947, Yintian Township and Qingxi Township were merged into Qingtian Township, and yunhuqiao was the first one. In August 1949, Xiangtan was peacefully liberated and the old township political power was abolished. The old Baojia division was still retained and changed into village and group. Qingtian township was under the jurisdiction of Huanglong District, and yunhuqiao was called the first village of Qingtian township. in June 1950, the town was established democratically, and Yunhu bridge, known as Yunhu Township, is under the jurisdiction of the third district. In May 1951, the county was divided into 24 districts (including today's Shaoshan City and Zhuzhou County), and Yunhu township was under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District. In May 1953, the district was named after the place name. The Fifth District was called Nanzhu mountain area. The former Yunhu township was divided into two townships, Yunhu and Feilun, which were under the jurisdiction of Nanzhu mountain area. In 1956, Yunhu and Feilun townships in nanzhushan district were merged with Xinli and Jianzhong townships in jiangshe district to form Qili township. In the second half of 1958, villages and towns were withdrawn and a people's commune integrating government and society was established. Quantangzi Township, Qingquan Township, Qili Township and jiangshe town were merged into jiangshe Jinxing people's commune. In April 1961, Jiang she Jinxing people's commune was divided into yunhuqiao commune, Jiang she commune and quantangzi commune. In May 1961, the district level system was restored, and the four communes of yunhuqiao, nanzhushan, Lianghu and Yanshan were all under the jurisdiction of jiangshe district. From February to April 1984, the administrative commune was separated and the Township People's government was established within the scope of commune. The four communes of yunhuqiao, nanzhushan, Lianghu and Yanshan were called the Township People's government respectively. In January 1985, yunhuqiao township was transformed into yunhuqiao town. In April 1995, yunhuqiao Town, nanzhushan Township, Lianghu Township and Yanshan Township were merged into yunhuqiao Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Xiangtan County.

Most of the stream water flows into Yunhu River and Qunying River, and accumulates in Lianshui River through Hujiang estuary and zhaziba. Several village streams on the west side of Yanshan village flow into datunying and Daolin River in Ningxiang County.
