Huangxiekou town

Huangxiekou town belongs to Jianli City, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. It is located in the northwest of Jianli City, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. Historical allusions

The town is the hometown of Wu Zixu, a famous historical figure. It was named after Chunshen (named Huang Xie), one of the "four famous kings" in the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period.

Huang Xie is knowledgeable and eloquent. When the state of Chu was weakened and attacked by the powerful Qin, he sent an envoy to the state of Qin. He saw that King Huai of Chu was deceived by Qin and died in the state of Qin. King Qingxiang of Chu just ascended the throne, worried that Qin would destroy Chu at one stroke, so he wrote a long letter to King Zhao of Qin, strongly stating that it was unwise for Qin to attack Chu. The letter said: "the world is no better than Qin and Chu. Today, I heard that the king wanted to attack Chu, but the two tigers were fighting each other. Finally, he convinced King Qin Zhao to order general Bai Qi to withdraw. He showed extraordinary diplomatic ability.

Later, Huang Xie and the prince of Chu remained in the state of Qin as hostages for several years. He made friends in the state of Qin and risked his life to help the prince escape. When he reckoned that the prince had indeed returned to his native country, Huang Xie took the initiative to tell King Qin Zhao about it, calm and self-confident, and regarded death as a return. Huang Xie's behavior caused a shock in the ruling group of the Qin state. Some people advocated killing Huang immediately, but many people secretly admired Huang Xie's courage and loyalty. They thought: "Xie is a minister, who was born to be partial to his master, and the prince must use Xie, so it's better to return to Chu without guilt." After some debate, the king of Qin decided to release Huang Xie back to the state of Chu and hold a banquet to see him off.

Huang Xie returned to the state of Chu and was regarded as a hero by the people of Chu. Three months later, King Qingxiang of Chu died, and the crown prince ascended the throne (King Xiaolie). In the 15th year of emperor Xiaolie (248 BC), he was renamed Wu. He paid attention to water conservancy construction, and many Jiangnan ports were opened and completed by Huang Xie. The famous Huangpu River in Shanghai also got its name from huangxie dredging. He was a courteous and virtuous corporal, competing with mengchang, Pingyuan and Xinling of Qi and Wei to attract the world's famous people. There were 3000 diners under his door, among whom there were many talented people with lofty ideals. They made suggestions for the revitalization of Chu and became a huge think tank. Huang Xie once sent troops to rescue Zhao and attack Qin. Later, he destroyed the state of Lu and became Prime Minister of Chu for more than 20 years, which once revived the state of Chu. After the death of King Xiaolie, Huang Xie was stabbed to death by Li Yuan's best friend in 238 BC. When passing by Huang Xie's former residence, Hu Zeng, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote a seven character quatrain: "martyrs want to pay for their country's kindness, who will pay for the ghost in Chunshen. Three thousand guests are always on their feet. Who do you want to kill Li Yuan? " I feel sorry for Huang Xie's bad ending. After Chunshen's death, Chu's power went from bad to worse, and it was soon destroyed by the strong Qin. Huangxiekou, his hometown, has become a new town under the jurisdiction of the county. The four lake main canal passes through the urban area. It has beautiful scenery and simple rural style. It is a new town in Jianli.
