Zhuangzhai town
Zhuangzhai town is subordinate to Cao County, Heze City, Shandong Province, China. It is located in the southwest edge of Shandong Province and the junction of two provinces and four counties. National Highway 220 and provincial highway 350 meet in the town, and RI Nan Expressway passes through. With a total area of 64.34 square kilometers, the town has three communities and 32 administrative villages, with a total population of 93000 (2013).
Since Qin Dynasty, zhuangzhai had been set up as YuanJu county. In Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed as wanting county. In Jin Dynasty, the Yellow River flooded and destroyed the city, which was merged into Jiyin county. Zhuangzhai township was established in 1958, zhuangzhai town and Baimao Township were established in 1983, and Baimao township was incorporated in 1988. In the history of zhuangzhai village, Liu Xiu, Huang Chao and other famous figures were born, and Huang Chao uprising originated here.
Zhuangzhai town is located in the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of the Yellow River. It is windy, Sandy and saline. It mainly grows wheat, corn, cotton and tung trees. Wood processing is the characteristic leading industry of zhuangzhai town. 80% of the farmers in the town are engaged in the wood industry. It is the largest Tung wood processing export base in China. In 2012, the gross national product of zhuangzhai town was 1.43 billion yuan, and the local fiscal revenue was 100.83 billion yuan. Zhuangzhai town has successively won the honorary titles of national civilized town, national key town, national pilot town of small town construction, central town of Shandong Province, demonstration town of small town construction in Shandong Province, and demonstration town of "hundred town construction demonstration action" in Shandong Province.
Historical evolution
In the 27th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (220 BC), zhiyuanju county (now zhuangzhai town) was under the jurisdiction of Dongjun.
In the early Western Han Dynasty, YuanJu County belonged to the state of Liang.
During the reign of emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty, YuanJu County belonged to Jiyin county.
In the Southern Dynasty and Song Dynasty, the county was abolished.
In the Northern Wei Dynasty, YuanJu county was restored.
In 1086, Yuanyou County of Northern Song Dynasty was changed to wanting County, which belongs to Jiyin County of Xingren Prefecture.
In 1168, wanting city was destroyed by the Yellow River, wanting county was abandoned, and Jiyin county was saved.
In the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1371), Zhuang Zhaijing belonged to Xiahou capital of Caoxian County, Dongming capital of Dongming county (assigned to Caoxian in the Ming Dynasty) and Xin'an capital of Xiangfu county (assigned to Caoxian in the Ming Dynasty).
In the second year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1404), the Zhuang family moved here from yangzaolin, Ma'ershan, Yidu, Qingzhou Prefecture, Shandong Province. It was named Zhuang village because of the construction of the village wall.
In 1735, it belonged to Taoyuan, Xin'an and Dongming Sanli of Cao county.
In 1928, it belonged to the Tenth District of Caoxian county (in Taoyuan).
In August 1943, it belonged to the third district of Qibin county.
In August 1949, it belonged to the seventh district of Caoxian county (in Taoyuan).
In March 1958, zhuangzhai was separated from Taoyuan and established zhuangzhai township; in September, zhuangzhai Township merged with Taoyuan Township and established universal people's commune; in October, it was renamed taoyuanji people's commune.
In February 1960, taoyuanji people's commune was renamed zhuangzhai people's commune.
In January 1979, 50 villages in the east of zhuangzhai people's commune were set up as taoyuanji people's commune, and 4 villages in the South were set up as dazhaiji people's commune.
In December 1983, zhuangzhai people's commune was abolished and zhuangzhai town and Baimao Township were established, both belonging to zhuangzhai District of Caoxian county.
In December 1988, zhuangzhai district was abolished; Baimao township was abolished, and the former administrative region of Baimao township was merged into zhuangzhai town.
In August 2020, Zhuang Zhai town and Taoyuan market town will be abolished and a new Zhuang Zhai town will be established.

Zhuangzhai town is located in the northwest of Cao county and the southwest edge of Shandong Province. It is located at the junction of four counties (districts) in Shandong and Henan provinces. It is adjacent to Taoyuan market town in the East, Nanzhang town in Lankao County in the southwest, Matou town and Datun town in Dongming County in the northwest, and Dahuang market town in Mudan District in the north. The maximum distance between East and west of the town is 6 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 11 km, with a total area of 64.34 square kilometers.

The soil in this area can be divided into two sub types: typical fluvo aquic soil and saline fluvo aquic soil. Salinized fluvo aquic soil is distributed in the northwest of the town (xiangfuzhai area), the northeast of the town (Mafang, qinzhai, Zhaozhai area), the southwest of the town (niangniangying, Dongsi, Zhangzhai area) and the south of the town (Baimao, Zhifang, wangyanzhuang, chenxiaoying area), with high soil salt content, salt spots on the surface, compact soil layer and low nutrient content; the rest are typical Fluvo aquic soil.

The main rivers and ditches in zhuangzhai town are Beiliu River, Xinchong River, Zhaowang River, Zhifanggou River and South Branch of Dongyu river. The total drainage area in zhuangzhai town is 60 square kilometers. In the southern part of the town, there was once a reservoir (Baimao reservoir in taihangdi reservoir). It was excavated in 1958, with a flooded area of 39.5 square kilometers, a water level of 60 meters and a storage capacity of 1.35 billion cubic meters. In 1962, the reservoir was stopped for cultivation.

In 2012, Shandong Coalfield Geology Bureau carried out a coal resource exploration project in zhuangzhai area, Caoxian County, with a preliminary estimation of 1.4 billion tons of underground coal reserves, which are coking coal.
