Lutian town is subordinate to Wan'an County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, bounded by Suichuan County in the west, Yutian Township and Qiaotou Township, and Gaopi town in the north, 25 kilometers away from the county. National Highway 105 passes through the territory. Lutian town was set up in Ming Dynasty, China and Korea. In ancient times, it was an important road for the three provinces of Jiangxi, Hunan and Guangdong. Because this important Road passed through the middle of Tianlong, and passed through the stream, the road and water, so it was named Luotian. The total area of the town is 144.9 square kilometers, including 26000 mu of cultivated land, 83160 mu of forest land and 21210 mu of Camellia oleifera forest. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 14982 permanent residents (2017).

The town's economy is dominated by agricultural economy, with weak industrial foundation and few enterprises. The town is rich in water resources and convenient transportation. It has 8 small (second) or more reservoirs, 105 national highway running through the north and south of the town. The now opened Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway passes through two administrative villages, namely, doutang and Xiashi. The town mainly produces grain, rich in watermelon, peanuts, tea oil, bamboo, pigs and so on.
