Zhukeng Township, under the jurisdiction of Shicheng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southeast of Shicheng County, 15 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Huaitu Town, Ninghua County, Fujian Province in the East, Pingshan Town in the west, Hengjiang town in the South and Qinjiang town in the North. The total area of the township is 63.2 square kilometers, with 7 administrative villages and 1 communities, 88 villagers' groups and 168 natural villages, with a registered residence population of 17 thousand and 700 in 2019.

Historical evolution
Zhukeng township is named after Zhukeng polder.
In August 1933, it was under the jurisdiction of Tailei county. After the red army went north in 1934, it returned to Shicheng County. On the eve of liberation, it belonged to Zhujiang township.
At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Zhukeng Township, Pingshan district; in 1958, it belonged to Hengjiang commune; in 1960, it was divided into Zhukeng commune; in 1966, it belonged to Hengjiang commune; in the winter of 1972, it was divided into Zhukeng commune from Hengjiang commune.
In June 1984, Jianxiang was changed to Zhukeng Township, which has jurisdiction over 7 villages, including Zhukeng, Tangtai, Sanhe, Aobei, Zhuxi, Liangxi and Gaoji, and 89 villager groups.
In 1996, the group of Emei Cai Village (only 6 families) in Aobei village moved out for some reason, and the group disappeared naturally. Since then, there have been 88 groups in the township.
