Banshi Town, under the jurisdiction of Anyuan County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Anyuan County, adjacent to Chongshi Township, Caifang Township and Gaoyunshan Township in the East, Chetou town in the south, Xinfeng County in the West and Longbu town in the north. Banshi town is the key management town of small town construction in Jiangxi Province and the demonstration town of small town construction in Ganzhou City. It is also the regional center of politics, economy, culture and transportation in the north of Anyuan County. The town covers an area of 155 square kilometers and governs one community and 14 administrative villages. In late 2018, the population of the stone town had 28 thousand registered residence.

Historical evolution
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was built as guogongwei, and later changed its name to banshiwei.
In 1949, Banshi township was established; in 1958, Banshi township was changed into Banshi commune; in 1984, Banshi commune was abolished and Banshi township was established again; in 1987, Banshi township was abolished and Banshi town was established.
