Liusi Town, known as Liushu in ancient times, also known as liusiqiao, belongs to Hukou County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is known as "Jiangnan ancient port", "the first town in northern Jiangxi", "hometown of Chinese poetry" and "hometown of Chinese grass dragon".
Liusi town is a "national key town", "central town of Hukou county", "economically developed town of Jiangxi Province", "important industrial town of Jiangxi Province", "the first batch of top 100 central towns in Jiangxi Province", "key demonstration town of Jiujiang City", "core area of yinshawan Industrial Park", "demonstration town of development and construction along the Yangtze River of Jiujiang City", "important industrial town along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River".
Liusi town is located at the junction of Jiangxi Province and Anhui Province and the junction of Hukou and Pengze counties. It is located in the north of Jiangxi Province, the east of Jiujiang City, the northeast corner of Hukou County, the South Bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Bank of huangmaotan.
Liusi town has a superior geographical location and convenient transportation since ancient times. It has 5.7 kilometers of Yangtze River coastline, Yangtze River Wharf and huangmaotan inner lake water transportation station. S214 provincial road, g530 National Road, Huanghu line, Tongjiu railway and S20 Penghu Expressway pass through the area, 3 km away from Hukou East toll station. It is the only way to Lushan Mountain, Shizhong mountain, Longgong cave and other scenic spots.
Liusi town is the hometown of Chinese poetry. In 2011, the first issue of Siqiao folk songs was listed as the "national general library" and officially collected and permanently preserved by the National Library.
Liusi town now has 2 communities, 16 administrative villages (including 184 natural villages), with a total population of 35000. The town government is located at No. 1 Fuxing Avenue (liusi town comprehensive cultural center) of liusiqiao community.
Liusi town was listed as "key demonstration town of Jiujiang City" and "joint demonstration town of town and village of Jiujiang City" in 2011. In 2013, it was listed as "the first batch of top 100 central towns in Jiangxi Province". In 2014, it was rated as "national key town", "top 100 towns of comprehensive strength" and "top 50 towns of industrial upgrading". In 2015 and 2016, Hukou won the first place in the comprehensive target management evaluation for two consecutive years. In January 2018, it was selected as one of the 30 economically developed towns in Jiangxi Province, enjoying some "county-level" treatment.
Historical evolution
Liusi Town, with a long history and profound deposits, was built in the Ming Dynasty.
Ming Dynasty belongs to five capitals.
The Qing Dynasty belonged to Zhilu.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to liusi, Xiangxian and Binpu respectively, and the administrative organization was Xianggong.
At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to a district, which divided Si, Shuangqiao, Yangshan, Fengji, Lixin, Tangshan, Jiangshan, Changlong and other townships.
In 1957, Liu Si township was set up.
In 1958, it was transformed into liusi commune.
In July 1984, liusi township was restored.
On August 2, 1992, the township was withdrawn and liusi town was built.
In October 2003, Shazhou village, Changjiang village and Yonghe village were merged into Changjiang village; Qixing village and Cangqian village were merged to establish Dongfeng Village; liusi village was abolished to establish liusiqiao community.
On February 24, 2018, the former Jiangwan central village was officially upgraded to Jiangwan community; the former Changjiang village was cancelled and divided into Yonghe village, Shazhou village and Changmian village.

There are Yangtze River Wharf and huangmaotan inland lake water transport station, S214 provincial road, g530 national highway, Huanghu line, Tongjiu railway and S20 Penghu Expressway passing through the territory, 3 km away from Hukou East toll station. Within the territory of town and Village Highway Star luoqibu, extending in all directions, has formed a three-dimensional traffic pattern of water railway Trinity.
The S20 Penghu Expressway passes through liusi town. A toll station at Hukou East is set up in Dalong village, and an auxiliary (ramp) road is set up to connect the center of liusi town. Penghu expressway is a local densified expressway connecting G35 Ji Guang Expressway and g56 hang Rui expressway. It is also an important connecting expressway between the north of Jiangxi Province and the southwest of Anhui Province, the main channel out of Jiangxi Province and Anhui Province, the highway transportation channel along the South Bank of the Yangtze River, and the supporting project channel of Pengze Maomao Mountain nuclear power station.
Penghu Expressway passes through liusi town. A toll station is set up in Dalong Village (hukou East toll station), and an auxiliary (ramp) road is set up to connect the center of liusi town. Another yinshawan port dredging first-class highway (two-way four lane) is built to connect yinshawan Industrial Park.
Tongjiu Railway
Tongling Jiujiang railway, or Tongjiu railway for short, is a railway connecting Tongling City in Anhui Province and Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province in China. It is a national grade I single track railway with a total length of 251 km. Tongjiu railway is connected with Ningtong railway at Shizishan station, Tongling City, Anhui Province, and Beijing Jiujiang railway at Jiujiang station, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is an important part of the national planned railway network, including the railway channel along the river and the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" railway network.
