Dongpu town

Dongpu town, belonging to Xiuyu District, Putian City, Fujian Province, is located on the "golden coastline" of Meizhou Bay. Since Putian was established as a county in the Southern Dynasty, it belongs to Putian. All Putian dialect is used. It has superior natural conditions and unique port resources.

Dongpu town takes advantage of port and other advantages, and its economy develops rapidly. In addition, Meizhouwan thermal power plant and other economic construction projects are developing well.

Meizhou Bay is located in the west, north, South and southeast of Dongpu town. Meizhou Bay is located in the northeast and east of Dongpu town, and other sea areas have been reclaimed.

General situation

Dongpu town is located on the "golden coastline" of Meizhou Bay, facing Meizhou Island in the southeast, Shanting Township, Mazu's hometown in the northeast, Zhongmen town in the north and Xiuyu port in the West. Since Putian County was established in the Southern Dynasty, it has belonged to Putian, all of which use Putian dialect. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, including one island village (Dongyu Village) and 129 villager groups.

The town has 9868 mu of arable land and 30000 mu of industrial hinterland. The planned total area of 8 square kilometers of Dongwu chemical industry park is located in the area under its jurisdiction. Dongpu town has superior natural conditions and port resources. The coastline is about 20 km long, including 11 km of deep water coastline. It is divided into two operation areas, Dongwu operation area and Leyu operation area. There are 13 wharves with 10000-200000 tons in Dongwu operation area, and shanleyu operation area 15 wharves with 50000-300000 tons will be built, with the highest waterway grade in the province.

Chenggang Avenue, Meizhouwan port railway branch and other traffic trunk lines will be directly connected to Dongwu and Leyu port areas. Meizhouwan thermal power plant, a provincial key enterprise, has invested 755.3 million US dollars in phase I, with a total installed capacity of 720000 kW. In 2006, the output value was 1.552 billion yuan, and the annual tax paid was 150 million yuan. It is actively planning the construction of phase II of thermal power plant (with a total investment of 8 billion yuan and an installed capacity of 2 million KW). In the southeast of the town, there are Putian Wuqiuyu Shangyu and Wuqiuyu Xiayu. Meizhou Bay is located in the west, north, South and southeast of the town. Meizhou Bay is located in the northeast and east of the town. Other sea areas have been reclaimed. Leyu island is located in the northwest and Panyu island is located in the south.

Historical evolution

On October 27, 1997, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs agreed to adjust the administrative division of ZHONGMEN Town, and then the town was divided into three townships: Shanting, Dongpu and Yuetang. On May 10, 2000, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs agreed to change the name of Dongpu township to Dongpu town. The northwest is Dongzhuang Town, Lingchuan town of Chengxiang District, Donghai town and Fengting town of Xianyou County.

Chenggang Avenue and the West Branch of the south section of Ligang Avenue go through Putian City. The West Branch of the south section of Hangang Avenue passes through the area towards Hanjiang District.

Six of the city's top 10 port and shipping projects are located in Dongpu. The construction of shanleyu cross sea railway highway bridge with an investment of 100 million yuan is expected to start within this year.
