Historical relics
Lin Xiangqian martyr cemetery is a cultural relic protection unit in Fujian Province. Located 22 kilometers west of Fuzhou City, Zhenfeng mountain, Xiangqian Town, Minhou County, covers an area of about 15000 square meters. In 1928, three coffins of Lin Xiangqian, his father Lin Duanhe and his younger brother Lin Yuancheng were transported back to his hometown by his wife Chen Guizhen for burial.
The cemetery was built in 1960, relocated in 1961 and completed in 1963. At the entrance of the cemetery stands a 4-meter-high granite statue of Lin Xiangqian. Along three rows and three groups of 126 stone steps, the "Memorial Hall of the 27 martyrs" is built. The three floors of the building are made of granite, with main hall, auditorium, exhibition hall, reference room and reception room. In the hall stands the bronze statue of Lin Xiangqian, which is 1.2 meters high and weighs 230 kg. The exhibition hall displays inscriptions by Zhu De, Chen Yun, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Guo Moruo, etc., as well as the life of Lin Xiangqian, pictures and material materials of the February 7th strike. The hemispherical Tomb of the martyrs is on the hillside behind the memorial hall. On the stone screen, Guo Moruo's handwritten "Tomb of martyr Lin Xiangqian" is engraved.
Lin Xiangqian was arrested by the reactionary warlords during the February 7th strike led by our party in 1923. In front of the enemy's butcher's knife, he was awe inspiring and looked upon death as if he would return home. He refused to issue a resumption order. Finally, he was brutally killed by the enemy and died at the age of 31.
After liberation, the party and the state decided to build a cemetery in the martyr's hometown in memory of Lin Xiangqian. On January 20, 1961, a ceremony for the relocation of the remains of the martyrs was solemnly held. In 1963, on the 40th anniversary of the February 7th massacre, the cemetery was completed and officially opened to the public. The cemetery covers an area of more than 28000 square meters, with a construction area of 5067 square meters. There are statues of martyrs, memorial hall, memorial hall, thousand people square and other memorial buildings. On both sides of the gate of the cemetery are the official script stone carvings of "Xiangqian cemetery". After more than 100 stone steps, it is a magnificent Memorial Hall. The seven golden characters of the memorial hall of the 27 martyrs are written by Guo Moruo, a contemporary calligrapher. Zhu De, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, inscribed on the memorial hall in November 1964: "the 27 martyrs will live forever.". He Xiangning, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, painted a plum blossom for the memorial hall, symbolizing the martyrs fighting against frost and snow like a cold plum. In 1987, the Hubei Provincial Federation of trade unions specially cast a bronze statue of Lin Xiangqian and presented it to Fujian Province. The bronze statue was placed on a 1.2-meter-high black marble base in the hall of the February 7th Memorial Hall in the cemetery. Standing all over, the bronze statue is 1.2 meters high and weighs 230 kg. It shows the heroic spirit of the martyrs in a realistic way and represents the glorious image of the workers fighting against the warlords at that time.
Through 110 pictures, the memorial introduces in detail the heroic deeds of martyr Lin Xiangqian, who shocked the world and cried for ghosts and gods, and reproduces the whole process of the "February 7th strike" that shocked China and foreign countries. The martyr's tomb was built on the back slope of the memorial hall. The tomb is hemispherical in shape, with a stone banner screen behind the platform and nine gold-plated characters inscribed in Guo Moruo's handwriting: "Tomb of martyr Lin Xiangqian of February 7th".
The mausoleum is lush in forest and evergreen in four seasons. It has become a base of patriotism education, youth moral education and a tourist attraction. It was approved by the State Council on August 20, 1989 and listed as a national key mausoleum
