In 1946, it was changed to Fuyu township. In May 1949, Fuyu town was restored and attached to Songkou district; in October 1949, Fuyu township was abolished and Fuyu district was established. In August 1952, it was divided into eight townships: houshu, Zhongxi, Fuyu, Qingshan, Qingliu, Shaxi and censhan. In December 1955, Fuyu district was abolished and put under Chengguan District.
