Zhangting town
Zhangting Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the east of Yuyao City, Ningbo City, 14 kilometers away from Yuyao City. In the old days, there were Shiji seventeen or eight Zhangs at the branch of cijiang River and Yaojiang River. The Abbot's room was built on it, which was called "Zhangting". It extends to Sanqi town in the East, Fengshan street in the west, Lubu town and Hemudu town across Yaojiang River and cijiang River in the south, and Henghe town in Cixi City in the north. The town covers an area of 55.4 square kilometers (2017) and has a permanent population of 37786 (2017).
In October 2019, Zhangting town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

The mulishan site in Zhangting town is a part of Hemudu culture with profound historical and cultural heritage. Since the reform and opening up, the economic and social undertakings of Zhangting town have developed rapidly, and the national economy has increased at a rate of about 20% every year. In 2004, the total industrial and agricultural output value of Zhangting town reached 5.122 billion yuan, the per capita income of farmers was 7180 yuan, and the export delivery value of the whole society reached 1.5 billion yuan. Zhangting town is one of the key export-oriented towns in the city. Its comprehensive economic strength has entered the ranks of top 100 towns in the province and top 20 towns in Ningbo City It was rated as a strong education town in Ningbo, a health town in Ningbo and a civilized town in Ningbo. Zhangting town governs 11 administrative villages, including Zhangting, Hujie, Yuxi, siqianwang, Banao, Fengdong, Huilong, Longfeng, Longnan and Meixi, and a residents committee of Sanjiang community. The terrain in the town is high in the north and low in the south. There are many hills in the north and plains in the south. The peak is 408 meters in huolonggang in the north. There are hills such as Longshan, Fenghuang, shuiniushan and Baixiangshan in the town. The annual average temperature is 16.1 degrees, the frost free period is 270 days, the annual average sunshine is 1743.4 hours, and the precipitation is 1530-1570 mm. There are red soil, yellow soil, yellow mud sand, green purple mud, green silt and so on. The town has 1588 mu of arable land and 42000 mu of mountain forest. There are many rivers and streams, rich in water resources. The Yaojiang River is 9 kilometers long and 150 meters wide. The section of cijiang river is 3.4 km long and flows into Yaojiang River. There are also 88 large and small rivers, such as youchepu, zhujiapu, longshanpu, shanghenghe and lujiahenghe, with a total length of 61 km. Since the 1970s, Jiangpu River and small watershed of reservoir have been comprehensively reconstructed. There are 27 small (3) reservoirs including siqianwang reservoir and Yaoling reservoir. The area of rainwater collection is 12.5 square kilometers and the total capacity is 5.32 million cubic meters.
Historical evolution
Zhangting town was merged with Meixi town in May 1992 (Meixi town was merged with huitou town before). The former Zhangting town belonged to Yue county before Qin and Han Dynasties, and then to Chu county. From Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jinchuan township of Cixi County. It was founded in 1942 and liberated on May 24, 1949. It is Zhangting town in Cixi County. In 1950, it was divided into three townships: Zhangting, Xixi and Gangdun. In October 1954, it was transferred to Yuyao. In the early stage of "people's communization" in 1958, it was first called the brigade and then changed to the management area; in 1961, it was established as a commune and in 1983 it was restored to Zhangting town. The original Meixi Township, there were plum trees in the past, and the running water came out from there, so it was named Meixi. Before the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it belonged to Longnan township. It was established in 1950, and was transferred to Yuyao County in 1954. In 1955, it was merged with Longnan township. In 1958, it was changed into a management area. In 1961, it was called a commune. In 1983, it was changed into Meixi township. Huitou Township, where longshanpu and jiuleishan converge, is named huitou. Before the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Zhangting town of Cixi County. In 1949, it belonged to Zhangting Town, Yuxi Township and Shushan Township respectively. Longshan township was established in 1950, Yuyao County in 1954 and Zhangting Township in 1956. In the early stage of "people's communization", it was called brigade and management area, Longshan commune in 1961, huitou commune in 1981 and huitou Township in 1983.
Industrial economy
Zhangting town's agriculture has always been dominated by rice cultivation and forest production such as red bayberry. In recent ten years, new industries such as flowers and seedlings, fruits, vegetables, livestock, famous tea and so on have emerged. The rice planting area of the town accounts for about 65% of the total cultivated land, and it is one of the key grain producing areas in the city. Myrica rubra is famous for its fruits, accounting for 49% of the total forest area. From the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China, Myrica rubra has been famous all over the country. After liberation, it developed rapidly and became the main producing area of "Yuyao Myrica rubra". Flower seedlings began to develop from yangjiaao and Banao in the 1960s, and expanded to the whole town in the early 1980s. There are nearly 100 agricultural industrial bases and large households in the town, including 3 bases over 1000 mu, 2 leading agricultural enterprises in Ningbo and Yuyao, and 3 agricultural professional cooperative organizations. The domestic industry started in the 1960s and developed rapidly in the 1980s. From the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, there were brick and tile manufacturers along Yaojiang, which gradually developed into an important brick and tile production base in eastern Zhejiang after liberation. Before the 1960s, there was only one state-owned rice factory and several small food processing workshops. In 1967, Zhangting and huitou established agricultural machinery factories respectively, and then Yuyao standard parts General Factory was established. In the 1980s, township industry rose rapidly. By the end of 1991, the industrial output value of Zhangting town and Meixi town reached 102 million yuan and 40.78 million yuan respectively. In 1993, Ningbo Rongli Horticultural Equipment Co., Ltd., the first Taiwanese enterprise, settled down, and then more than 30 foreign-funded enterprises landed in Zhangting, becoming one of the gathering areas of Taiwanese enterprises in the city. the town has formed a pattern of textile printing and dyeing, hardware machinery, pipe valve bearings, plastic molds, gardening equipment and other industries, with 4 industrial functional zones, including 3 town level parks, 1 Taiwan business park, with a total area of 300 hectares; and 2 massive economic zones, of which Hujie "pipe valve city" is famous throughout the country. There are more than 1500 industrial and trade enterprises (companies) with more than 20000 employees. The total industrial output value reached 5.710 billion yuan. Among them, there are more than 70 export enterprises, whose products are sold to more than 100 countries and regions in Europe and the United States, and three national medium-sized enterprises have emerged. In 2005, the total social output value of the town was 1.4 billion yuan, the total industrial and agricultural output value was 5.923 billion yuan, the added value of the tertiary industry was 875 million yuan, the general budget revenue was 108 million yuan, and the per capita annual income of farmers was 7800 yuan. Since 2003, it has become one of the top 100 economic towns in Zhejiang Province and one of the top 1000 in China.
Urban construction
Zhangting used to be an important town on the waterway between Kuaiji and Mingzhou. In 1279, Zhangting inspection department was set up, forming Zhangting and Yuxi market towns. Before the Qing Dynasty, the market town was small in scale. In the Republic of China, Zhangting built a 300 meter long and 3 meter wide market, and every second, fifth and eighth day was the market day. Yuxi also formed a 200 meter long and 5 meter wide market, and every first, fourth and seventh day was the market day. After liberation, the market town developed rapidly. Zhangting became the political, economic and cultural center, transportation hub and cargo distribution center of Yaodong region in the late 1970s. In 1984, the master plan of Zhangting town was compiled for the first time, and in the spring of 2001, it was revised for the fourth time, which determined the construction and development idea of Zhangting town "developing northward, extending from east to west, and coordinating the development of new and old towns". The planning area of Jiancheng district has been expanded from 2.3 square kilometers to 12 square kilometers. Zhangting town has formed a downtown area with three streets crossing Xinmin Road, Wayao road and Zhangyi road. in 2002, the town government raised nearly 30 million yuan to build Zhangting interchange, which broke the bottleneck of railway transportation and expanded the space for urban development. Subsequently, it successively invested nearly 200 million yuan to improve urban infrastructure, implement road hardening, greening and lighting projects, and constantly improve municipal facilities. Yuxi new town has built more than 10 trunk roads, such as Changle Road, mulishan Road, Renmin Road, Renfeng Road, Huimin Road, zhengtongdao road and Yuxi Road, forming a vertical and horizontal traffic network extending in all directions. At the same time, Yuxi shopping mall, new town government building, people's Square, farmers' market, Yuxi Mingyuan, Fengze Meiyuan, new bus station and other landmark buildings, as well as banks, postal, telecommunications, shopping malls, supermarkets, guest hotels and other municipal public utilities facilities have been built, which has led to the rapid development of the tertiary industry, and a new modern town has begun to scale. Major changes have taken place in the transportation pattern of Yaojiang River water transportation and Xiaoyong railway. Every village is connected with trunk roads, 61 provincial roads run through the whole town, and a 9 km Meixi Yangmei tourist road is built to connect Cixi to Hangzhou Bay trunk line. the town waterworks was built in 1984. After several expansion and reconstruction, the daily water supply capacity reached 18000 tons, becoming the largest town waterworks in Yaodong area, and the popularization rate of tap water reached 100%. There are two 110000V and 500000 V substations in the town, which can fully meet the needs of village residents and enterprises. Since the opening of the program-controlled telephone in 1991, it has successively opened "PHS", wireless telephone, network broadband and other telecommunications services, with the penetration rate of telecommunications reaching 100%.
