Dainan town has a history of thousands of years, which can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty. The imperial seal of Huguo temple is the manifestation of Dainan's history. In the spring of the 20th year of Zhenguan (647), Li Shimin ordered Yuchi Jingde to supervise the construction of Chan temple at the original dilapidated small Temple of qixingzhuang (Dainan), and personally wrote the title of "Huguo Temple" in honor of "protecting the state of Tang".
In the first year of Wufeng in the eastern Wu Dynasty (254), Sun Liang returned to Hailing county. The first person who lived here was Dai, and his name was Dai Jiaze because he was close to the swamp of the full moon lake.
In 1684, when Emperor Kangxi visited the south, he learned the historical origin of Huguo temple and Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, from Wang Shizhen, a cabinet scholar who accompanied him on the South tour. So he inscribed the word "Chifeng" in front of "Huguo Temple". Therefore, the name of the ancient temple is "Chifeng Huguo Temple".
