lower oneself
Self contempt, Chinese idiom, Pinyin is Z ì Q ī ngz ì Ji à n, interpreted as looking down on themselves. They often refer to themselves and lower their status. It comes from the second volume of ancient and modern novels by Feng Menglong of Ming Dynasty.
