Idiom story
Fan Ju was a native of Wei in the Warring States period. He once wanted to be loyal to the king of Wei, but because his family was poor and could not raise money for his activities, he could not see the king of Wei. Later, he had to work under Xu Jia, a doctor in the state of Wei. One day, King Zhao of Wei sent Xu Jia to visit the state of Qi, and fan Ju followed him. They stayed in the state of Qi for several months, but they were not received by the king of Qi Xiang. But when king Qi Xiang heard that fan Ju was good at debating and eloquence, he gave him ten jin of gold, beef and wine. However, fan Ju declined. When Xujia learns about this, he is very angry and thinks that fan Ju must have betrayed Wei's secret to get this reward. After returning to the state of Wei, Xu Jia was still angry with fan Ju, so he reported the incident to the prime minister Wei Qi. Wei Qi believed it, and his angry life beat fan Ju. Fan Ju's ribs were broken and his teeth fell off, so he had to play dead. Wei Qi sent someone to roll him up with a mat and throw him into the toilet. He also told the drunken guests to pee on fan Ju. In addition to humiliating fan Ju, the purpose was to punish him. Later, with the help of Zheng Anping, a native of the state of Wei, fan Ju fled and hid together. Fan Ju also changed his name to Zhang Lu. Later, fan Ju fled to the state of Qin under Zheng Anping. He proposed the strategy of long-distance and short-term attack, and was honored as prime minister by King Zhao of Qin. People in the state of Wei don't know about fan Ju's escape to the state of Qin and becoming the prime minister. They think fan Ju has been killed long ago, and people in the state of Qin always call fan Ju Zhang Lu. King Zhao of Qin accepted fan Ju's idea and prepared to attack Korea and Wei. When the king of Wei heard the news, he sent Xujia to Qin to ask for a strike. At this time, fan Ju disguised himself as a poor man and came to the guest house to meet Xu Jia. Naturally, Xujia was very surprised to see fan Ju. Fan Ju falsely told Xu Jia that he was an official of the state of Qin. When Xujia saw that he was wearing shabby clothes, he felt pity. He left Fanju for dinner and gave him a thick silk robe of his own. During their conversation, Xu Jia asked fan Ju, "do you know Zhang Jun, the Prime Minister of the state of Qin. I heard that King Qin Zhao was very fond of him. He decided all the important things in the world. The success or failure of my trip also depends on Zhang Jun. Do you have any friends who are familiar with Prime Minister Zhang Jun? " Fan Ju said: "my host has a good friendship with him. If I can ask him to meet me, let me introduce you." So fan Ju found a cart with four horses to drive for Xu Jia and go to see Zhang Lu. After entering the prime minister's office of the state of Qin, fan Ju got out of the car and said to Xu Jia, "please wait for me. I'll go ahead and report to the Prime Minister for you." But Xujia waited for a long time, but no one came. Later, Xujia inquired with the soldiers and found out that fan Ju was Zhang Lu, the Prime Minister of the state of Qin. Xu Jia was shocked and knew that he had been cheated in. He quickly took off his coat, bared his arms and knelt all the way, and asked the porter to confess to fan Ju. So fan Ju sat on the hall where the grand tent was hung and said, "how many crimes have you got?" "It's not enough to count my sins by pulling out my hair," he replied Later, people extended some of Xu Jia's words to the idiom "it's hard to count the number of promotions" to describe the numerous crimes.
