The film tells the conflict of ideas and their respective emotional stories in the family life of Lao Zhu and his three daughters, whose wife has died for many years.

Synopsis

Lao Zhu is the only remaining chef of Chinese cuisine in Taiwan. Now he retires and lives in an old house with his three daughters. Every day, he spends a lot of time making rich dishes. Jiazhen, the eldest daughter, is an old maid teacher in a middle school. She is rigid and conservative, and believes in Christian doctrines and hymns. Jiaqian, the second daughter, has a gift for cooking since childhood. She is at odds with her father and refuses to go into her own kitchen. She works as a Manager in an airline company and has a lover. Jianing, the youngest daughter, is in school, just at the beginning of love. Although Lao Zhu makes a sumptuous feast every day, his three daughters still have their own concerns and don't buy from his father. Lao Zhu also gradually loses the most important ability of a chef. Jiazhen is getting older and older. She's afraid she won't be able to get married, so she likes the P.E. teachers at school. Jiaqian is independent and capable. She has to compete with men all the time. One moment, she decides to buy her own house and move out. Another moment, she is sent to Amsterdam by the company. However, on the one hand, she has no clear relationship with her lover, on the other hand, she has a relationship with Li Kai, the cadre of the company Ghost big, not only robbed his girlfriend's boyfriend, but also made his stomach big.
