A sudden change
Chinese idiom, Pinyin is x ǐ x ī NQ ū t ū, which means to remove firewood beside the stove and change a straight chimney into a curved one. This refers to fire prevention. Later, it also refers to taking measures first to prevent the trouble. It comes from the biography of Huo Guang in the history of Han Dynasty.
The origin of Idioms
Huo guangzhuan in the book of Han: "a man named Xu Sheng wrote a letter and said:" when I heard that a guest had a master, I saw that his stove was straight and his salary was accumulated. The guest was the master, and his salary was even more curved. If he did not, he would suffer from fire. Master, you should not. The fire broke out in Russia, and the neighbors saved it. Fortunately, they got the rest. "
Idiom story
A visitor to the host saw that the chimney of the stove was straight and there was firewood beside it. He said to the host, "rebuild a curved chimney and keep firewood away from the chimney. Otherwise, there will be the danger of fire. " The master was silent. Soon after, the house was on fire. The neighbors came to put out the fire together. Fortunately, the fire was put out. So (the host) slaughtered the cattle and offered a banquet to thank the neighbors. The people who were injured by the fire were arranged at the table, and the rest were arranged according to their merits, but the guests who proposed "Qu Tu" were not invited. Someone said to the host, "if I had listened to the guest's words, I didn't have to pay for the banquet. There would never have been a fire. Now, commenting on credit and inviting guests, (why) the people who put forward the suggestion of "moving money by leaps and bounds" have not received thanks and favors, while the burned people have become guests? " The host woke up and invited the guest.
