unknown hero
The unsung hero is the oath of central Teko.
Original oath
I volunteered to join the central special branch, regardless of personal gains and losses and honor status, and I was ready to be arrested and sacrificed at any time. If, after being arrested, under the threat and inducement of the enemy, he does not betray the organization and dedicates his life and everything to the party. Firmly strive for the realization of communism to the end, vow to be an unknown hero! (excerpt from the Autobiography of Comrade Chen Chang, page 12)
Central special branch
Time of establishment
After the failure of the great revolution in 1927, the central organs of the CPC moved to Shanghai. In November, in order to protect the safety of the Party Central Committee, the Party Central Committee established the Political Security Bureau of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China - "central special branch" in Shanghai, under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai. In November 1928, the CPC Central Committee decided to form a special committee composed of Xiang Zhongfa, Zhou Enlai and Gu Shunzhang to specifically lead the work of the "central special branch". In fact, Zhou Enlai really presided over the work.
Main tasks
The main tasks of the "central special branch" are: to safeguard the safety of the central leading organs, to understand and grasp the enemy's movements, to rescue arrested comrades and to punish traitors and secret agents.
Main departments
The "central special section" consists of three sections: General Affairs Section, intelligence section and security section. General affairs section (Section 1) is responsible for setting up organs, arranging venues, rescuing and pacifying, with section chief Hong Yangsheng; intelligence section (Section 2) is responsible for collecting intelligence and establishing intelligence network, with section chief Chen Geng; security section (Section 3, also known as red team and dog beating team) is responsible for security organs, suppressing traitors and spies, with section chief Gu Shunzhang (concurrently) . In 1928, a radio communication section (four sections) was added to set up radio stations, train radio operators, and carry out communication with various places. After Gu Shunzhang defected in April 1931, the special section of the Central Committee was reorganized and renamed the Political Security Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Chen Yun was in charge of the special section. He was concurrently the chief of the first section, pan Hannian, the chief of the second section, and Kang Sheng, the chief of the third section (pseudonym Zhao Rong). The work of the former four sections was handed over to the Central Committee after 1932. After rectification, the "central special branch" has changed its working methods, created a unique way of combining united front work with intelligence work, and rebuilt the intelligence network.
Late leadership
After the CPC Central Committee moved from Shanghai in 1933, Wu Hejing and Wang Shiying successively presided over the work of "special branch of the CPC Central Committee". In September 1935, they withdrew in batches and set up an office in Shanghai. Nie Rongzhen, Kuang Jixun, Ke Lin and others also participated in the leadership of the central special branch.
