console oneself with false hopes
Chinese idiom, Pinyin is w à NGM é izh à K à, which means plum acid, people will salivate if they want to eat plum, so quench thirst. After the metaphor wishes can not be realized, comfort yourself with fantasy. It comes from a new account of the world: false treachery.
Historical evolution
Some people say that it is a kind of wisdom, others say that it is the treachery of Cao Cao. Many scholars came to Meishan village of Hanshan county to explore the history of "looking for plum to quench thirst", leaving poems with different views. In Volume 48 of Yu Di Ji Sheng and Zhou Zai, "Wang Anshi's poem says:" the general immediately set up a good plan, looking at the Castle Peak and pointing to the plum tree. It has been a long time since the past, and its name is immortal. Dai Zhong, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, wrote in his plum blossom in Meishan: "the spring water of Wujiang River is very deep. Xu Jun drinks his horse and looks at jiangxun, but there is no sign of flowers and trees in the empty mountain. Cao Cao has been hiding the meaning until now.". Zhao can (the writer of Hanshan county annals) wrote the poem "huaimeishan historic site" in Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, which said: "the shadow of the people is whirling, and the people are sighing. The eyes of the cloud wear Dou Han, Xiao Temple smoke Luo, color pan gold zunman, light green field more. In those days, the place where thirst was quenched was called "the place where thirst was quenched". In Meishan written by Yang Jifang, the prefect of Hezhou in the Qing Dynasty: "birds sing with rain, and smoke trees are covered with clouds. Clouds are where Cao Amei quenches his thirst. White grass and yellow plum have become ancient and modern, and green mountains and clear waters have gone from dawn to dusk. Xu Chang, the magistrate of the Qing Dynasty, said in his book "climbing the tower and looking at Meishan mountain": "this place was once a place of Wei and Wu dynasties, and the majestic wind seemed to be sent to many mountains.".
According to the records of Hezhou in Wanli year of Ming Dynasty, there were "Zhike" Pavilion and Meishan nunnery on Meishan, and Hu Yongcheng, the Tongzhi of Hezhou, had "Zhike Pavilion". According to Hanshan county annals written by Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, "Meishan tower, with its steep stone peak, was built for mediocrity. Scholars held hands for many years. Until Zou Yi, the magistrate of Yimao County in Wanli of Ming Dynasty (1675), he began to adopt public opinions, and made great efforts to succeed. He regretted that the work had not been finished Dai Zhongyou, a native of Suzhou, wrote "a tale of Meishan". Meishan temple is located at the foot of Meishan about 2 kilometers. On the south side of wuguipo, not far from Meishan temple, there is a smooth stone wall, engraved with "Cao Cao's teacher is here to watch the plum blossom and quench his thirst". Meishan pagoda was built in Qing Dynasty with 11 storeys and more than 30 meters high. It was made of green brick. The word "the moon is towering" was written on the top lintel of the pagoda, which was later destroyed by Japanese fire.
For many years, Hanshan County Cultural Research Association and Hanshan County folk artists association have conducted field investigation and historical research on Wangmei Zhike site in Hanshan County, and sorted out a paper named "investigation of Three Kingdoms cultural sites in Hanshan county", which was submitted to the "National Three Kingdoms Cultural Research Center" in 2017. After experts repeatedly verified the historical data, the paper was included in the "National Three Kingdoms Cultural Research Center, Chengdu Research Center" and "National Three Kingdoms Cultural Research Center" Zhuge Liang and the culture of the Three Kingdoms (9), a collection of papers compiled by Wuhou Temple Museum and Chengdu Zhuge Liang Research Association, was published by Science Press in 2018, which is available in Jingdong Mall and Xinhua bookstores all over the country.
The origin of Idioms
Liu Yiqing of the Southern Song Dynasty wrote in a new account of the world: false treachery: "the army of the Wei Dynasty was thirsty because of the loss of the way of military service, but the order said:" there was a big plum forest in front of it, Rao Zi. Sweet and sour can quench thirst. " When the soldiers heard it, their mouths all came out of the water, and they got to the front source
Translation:
Emperor Wei Wu (Cao Cao) couldn't find water on his way, so the soldiers were very thirsty, so he ordered: "there is a plum forest in front of him, which bears a lot of fruit. The plum is sour and sweet, which can quench thirst. "After the soldiers heard this, their saliva came out. Cao Cao used this method to urge the troops to get to the front as soon as possible and found the water source.
