allusion
In the 11th century B.C., Jiang Ziya, an 80 year old man, was a lower official in the Shang Dynasty. Seeing that King Zhou was immoral, he abandoned his official and fled to Xiqi. He wanted to join Xibo Jichang and was afraid of being ridiculed, so he temporarily lived in seclusion in a small village by the Weishui River, waiting for the right time. One day, he was fishing along the Weihe River to relieve his boredom. Wu Ji, a woodcutter, passed by and saw that he was fishing with a straight hook. He was still three feet away from the water. There was no bait on the hook, so he asked the elder his surname. Jiang Shang replied: "the surname is Jiang, the name is Shang, the word is Ziya, the name is Feixiong. "Wu Ji sighed and said," it's true that one's ambition doesn't lie in one's high age. It's not suitable for a fool like you to call himself a flying bear! "Jiang Shang said with a smile," fishing is a fake, but it's true. However, if you want to catch the king and Hou, you'd better take them from the straight rather than from the song! "Wuji said:" you are not like a king, but like a living monkey. "After that, he took up the firewood and went to the city. Unexpectedly, when Wuji enters the city, he accidentally kills the guard sergeant, which brings disaster. When Xibo Jichang passes by, he learns that Wuji is a dutiful son and that there is no one to support his mother, so he gives him ten liang of gold and orders him to go back to settle his mother. Despairing, his mother brought Wu Ji to Jiang Shang for help. Jiang taught him to do this. From then on, Wuji only worked in the countryside, not in the city.
Time flies. It's spring again. One day, Xibo came to the Weihe River for an outing and hunting. Suddenly someone sang, "the Phoenix is not lacking, the Lin is not lacking, but the governance of the world is polluted. When the Dragon prospers, the tiger breeds the wind, and the world is slow to find a virtuous path "Ji Chang ordered people to find the singer. Seeing that it was Wu Ji, he yelled," how dare you deceive me and sing here instead of taking the blame? "Wuji told the truth, and said that this song was also written by Jiang Shang. Ji Chang thought that Jiang Shang must be a sage, so he immediately pardoned Wuji's death and ordered him to lead the way to the river to visit Jiang Shang. In order to test Jichang's sincerity, Jiang Shang evaded the reeds. Three days later, Ji Chang granted Wu Ji the title of general Wude. He led the way again. He personally led hundreds of officials to visit Jiang Shang again and granted him the title of Taigong. Later, Taigong assisted King Wen and established the Zhou Dynasty with King Wu.
Idiom story
Taigong, whose surname was Jiang Shang, also known as LV Shang, was a meritorious official who helped King Wen and King Wu of Zhou to destroy Shang. He lived in seclusion in a place near the Weishui River in Shaanxi Province when he was not reused by King Wen. It was the area ruled by Jichang, the leader of the Zhou nationality, who hoped to attract Jichang's attention and build up his achievements.
Tai Gong used to hang his bell beside the fan river. Most people fish with hooks, which are followed by fragrant bait, and then sink it in the water to lure the fish to take the bait. But Taigong's hook was straight, with no bait on it or sinking into the water, and it was three feet above the water. As he raised his fishing rod, he said to himself, "fish who don't want to live, if you like, take the bait yourself."
One day, a firewood gatherer came to the stream and saw Tai Gong fishing on the water with a straight hook without bait. He said to him, "old man, you can't catch a fish in 100 years if you fish like this!"
Taigong raised his fishing rod and said, "to tell you the truth, I don't want to catch fish. I want to catch the king and the marquis."
Taigong's peculiar fishing method finally spread to Jichang. When Ji Chang knew, he sent a soldier to call him. But Taigong ignored the soldier and only went fishing by himself. He said to himself, "go fishing, go fishing. If the fish don't take the bait, the shrimp will make a fool of themselves."
After hearing the report from the soldiers, Ji Chang sent an official to invite Taigong. But Taigong still didn't answer. He said while fishing: "fishing, fishing, big fish don't bite, small fish don't fool around!"
Ji Chang realized that this fisherman must be a talented person, and he had to invite him in person. So he took a vegetarian diet for three days, took a bath, changed his clothes, and went to fanxi to hire Taigong. Taigong saw that he sincerely invited himself, so he agreed to work for him.
Later, Jiang Shang assisted King Wen to build a prosperous country. He also helped King Wen's son Jifa, King Wu, destroy the Shang Dynasty and was granted the title of Qi by King Wu, realizing his wish to make contributions.
