It is said that in ancient times, Dayu became the leader of China for his meritorious service in flood control. Once he went to the southern provinces for inspection, and took a boat with his entourage to the middle of the river. Suddenly, a yellow dragon lifted the boat into the air, and the people on the boat were all at sea. Dayu laughed and said, "I am ordered by heaven to work hard for all the people. To live is to send; to die is to return. " Seeing that he could not scare Dayu, Huanglong fled in a hurry.
