In the book of changes, Xici Shang: "benevolence means benevolence, and knowledge means knowledge." One Yin and one Yang is called Tao. Good is the successor, and nature is the winner. Benevolence means benevolence, and knowledge means knowledge. The common people use it everyday but don't know it. To show all benevolence, to hide all uses, to drum up all things without worrying with the sages, to achieve great virtue! Wealth is great cause, and innovation is Shengde. Life is easy, image is dry, and imitation is Kun. The knowledge of extreme number is called Zhan, the change is called thing, and the unexpected of yin and Yang is called God. Fresh: less, here it means that few people understand. ② Rixin: constantly updated. Shengsheng: the change is endless. ③ Jishu: the change of exhausting hexagram and Jiao. The unity of opposites and changes of one Yin and one Yang is the "Tao" of the development of things, that is, the regularity, which is inherited by beauty and good, and achieved by the inherent nature of things. What benevolent people find from this "Tao" is only "benevolence", and what wise people find from this "Tao" is only "wisdom". People use this "Tao" every day in their daily life, but they don't know it at all. Therefore, the "Tao" of an accessible and compatible gentleman is less known. The way of yin and Yang is often shown in the heart of benevolence that achieves all things, and hidden in daily use. "Tao" can encourage and educate all things. However, because it is a pure and objective natural body, it is not worried like saints. From this, we can see how noble and broad the virtue and great achievements of "Tao" of yin and yang are. To be rich in all things can be called "great cause", which can make things take on a new look every day. This is the grand virtue of "Tao" to educate all things. Life and death is the "change" produced by the mutual transformation of yin and Yang. It is called "Qian" if it can present the celestial phenomena, Kun if it can imitate the terrain, divination if it can predict the future with extreme number, doing things if it can understand the changes of yin and Yang and then take actions. It is called "God" if Yin and yang are unpredictable and subtle. In this section, the author of Xici expounds his view on Tao, and holds that the origin of all things in the universe lies in Tao, that is, the alternation of yin and Yang. The change of Tao is endless, and it is omnipresent, but it is difficult to grasp. Only sage and gentleman can fully understand it. These abstract comments express a kind of cosmology and a kind of philosophical thought. No wonder the people in Jintong are not clear about it. However, if you don't speak so deeply, the people can understand. For example, life comes from the combination of male and female. Flowers, for example, grow in sunlight and soil. Time, for example, consists of day and night. This is the combination of yin and yang to produce all things. The concept of yin and Yang has Chinese characteristics and goes deep into our hearts. We have used it to treat and explain everything in the world since ancient times.
