find one's true self
Seeing one's heart and nature is a Chinese word. Seeing one's heart is to find one's true heart; seeing one's nature is to see one's true nature. See their own original authenticity, so it is said to point to the heart. Understand the original heart, see the nature of immortality. It is the realm of Zen. Words and deeds will be destroyed.
The wisdom achievement of Zen
As we all know, "Zen" is the greatest achievement of Chinese Buddhism, and it is also the one most influenced by Chinese culture. It is also the one with the most thorough Sinicization of Chinese Buddhism. Why can Zen have such great achievements? And become so important? In order to understand this, you have to know "what is Buddhism?" And "what is the main purpose of Buddhism?" The ultimate goal of Buddhism, as you know, is to seek wisdom and enlightenment. However, why is the so-called "Enlightenment" so important and desirable that it can even become the ultimate goal of Buddhism? Let's look at the English word "enlightment" from etymological perspective: [conjunction < I > en < / I > -, toputin; suffix < I > - < / I > < I > en < / I >, indicating verb, tolightup]. Therefore, according to the etymology of enlighten, its meaning is to inject the light of Buddha's wisdom into the dark heart of all living beings, because there is often no or very little light in the heart of all living beings. Because there is no light in the hearts of all living beings, so there is no light of wisdom. Therefore, the whole heart is always wrapped or covered in darkness. Therefore, the hearts of all living beings become blind and foolish, so they are blind to their own mind and the external world. As a result, all living beings spend most of their lives groping and stumbling in the dark, only lured or driven by their own dark and mindless karma, thus constantly creating all kinds of karma based on self-interest and egocentrism: for the sake of self-interest or survival, they repeatedly hurt others to enrich themselves, and they are always self righteous (self-j I don't feel guilty. All living beings are like this. All their life, they have been living or being imprisoned in their own cells. They have been planning, calculating, designing and operating strategies for themselves, until they die and never stop. This life is not finished, and the afterlife continues. This is called "endless rotation". Why do all living beings do this? Because they have no light in their heart, that is to say, they have no light in their heart. Therefore, they have been pursuing blindly all their lives, suffering countless failures, setbacks, blows and sufferings. However, because of the drive of "no light in their heart", they do not know why. At the same time, they can not help repeating endless blind pursuit, chasing out, jumping back and forth There is no time for repentance. Therefore, the only way to break this endless worry and pain is to make his heart clear and have light in his heart, that is to shine the great wisdom of Buddha into his heart. To achieve this goal, the walker must open his heart, even if not all of it, and let the light of Buddha shine through every corner of his heart Open a gap (as the Lengyan Sutra says in Kaishi Zen), so that at least a ray of Buddha light can shine into his heart, and illuminate his heart, so that he can see and "see himself" - and then he can see and know all his actions, words and thoughts. How can he really enter into "knowing self", "knowing self heart", and even realize: "knowing today is the future?" But yesterday was not, and even for the first time in my life, I "saw" and realized that I had done a lot of wrong things in the past, but I didn't know it, I didn't know I had any mistakes, and I never felt ashamed or repentant. Now, because I have some light in my heart, I can use it to reflect, see, know and repent, and improve my wisdom and morality With the development of behavior and personality, the "self expansion" is becoming smaller and smaller, and the number of persistent opinions is also decreasing. As a result, the self-esteem is becoming more and more open and aboveboard, and the friction between family members, friends and colleagues is becoming less and less (because the "self centeredness" is reduced, so they are less opinionated and self righteous), "so, whether in the family or in the workplace, The self mind is becoming more and more open, more and more intelligent and bright, full of joy, vigor, friendliness, kindness, and broad mind. Therefore, as the Buddhist Scripture says, because of the true practice of Dharma, people feel more and more respectable and lovely when they see joy. Therefore, not only the interpersonal relationship is greatly improved, but also the self mind is open and bright As a result, the work is more and more smooth, and the whole personality and life are changed in an all-round way, full of hope of light, wisdom and happiness. This is the specific purpose and function of learning Buddhism, as well as the purpose and function of practicing Zen - that is, to enhance and enhance our wisdom, and thus improve the methods and principles of doing things, so as to truly enhance our wisdom and the quality of life, making us more intelligent, more bright and happier; it is not isolated from the world, negative, regressive and gloomy - that is, ordinary people, Or it's not a big misunderstanding of those who really understand the Dharma; also because of such common misunderstanding and doubts, the real great and bright wisdom of Buddha and Bodhisattva is disappearing day by day, and ordinary people are afraid to approach the Dharma. These are all Buddhists, especially those that Buddhists urgently need to preach, advocate and improve. Only in this way can the wisdom of the Dharma be understood, accepted and enjoyed by all living beings once again, so as to obtain great benefits. This is the real purpose of Buddhism. It is also the most rational, bright and great truth that the sixth patriarch of Zen revealed in "the sixth patriarch's Sutra". It makes all living beings have the highest goal of "being aware of their own heart and nature" and achieving the highest goal of "becoming a Buddha by seeing their own nature". However, in order to achieve the state of "insight", the mind must first be calmed down. In order to make the mind calm, the practitioners must also "meditate" (commonly known as "meditation"). There are many ways of meditation that you have to learn. You can't just turn your legs around and call it meditation or meditation. The most important thing is to learn and understand how to "take care of your mind" in sitting. Only when you take care of your mind, can your mind calm down. This state of peace of mind is called "stop" in Buddhism, which means to stop the worry, or the restless "heart wave" or "heart wave" in the "heart lake" ’Only when the "mind water" in meditation is calm, can the image of self heart and the real image of all dharmas inside and outside or the "Dharma reality" be seen or shown truthfully. These "Dharma images" will not appear distorted or blurred in the mind water. This is called "seeing the image of self heart" in the realm of practicing meditation, It is called "view" or "wisdom view". Therefore, in a word, meditation is to sit there and take care of the body and mind, make the body and mind stop and not be disturbed, so as to "stop" (instead of just sitting there and not thinking about anything, as the sixth patriarch said, "all things don't think", just like a piece of wood.) To get "stop" is to get "set". When the mind is settled, it will not shake at will. Only then can it practice "observation" and truly observe and see all the dharmas of one's body and mind as well as inside and outside. Therefore, one can truly know all the realities. This is called "from stopping to observing". If you can "stop and observe", then you can practice "stop and observe" at the same time, which is called "stop and observe double luck"; and if you can achieve "stop and observe equality" or "Dinghui and other holding", you will get "samadhi" or "samadhi". And getting samadhi is the highest achievement of practicing meditation. However, samadhi itself is not the highest purpose of learning Buddhism. The function of samadhi lies in that it enables the practitioner to break through all "no beginning, no understanding" according to the power of samadhi (Dinghui, etc.), so as to truly realize: to realize from childhood, to realize from greatness, and even to realize from greatness to greatness. but becoming Buddha itself is not the ultimate goal: after becoming Buddha, we will teach other living beings according to our own experience and methods of practicing Buddhism, so that everyone can realize their own mind and nature, and fully see that they have the nature of Buddha. Thus, we can become Buddha, such as Buddha inherits from each other, spreads and imparts to each other, self-cultivation, self-cultivation, self-cultivation, and self-cultivation, so that all living beings can have unlimited wisdom and happiness, and live forever in the future This is the ultimate goal, endless purpose, endless will and endless sorrow of Buddhism. This is the ultimate meaning, purpose and practice of Buddhism. Of course, this is also the gist of the six patriarchal sutras and Yuanjue sutras. This sutra is one of the most precious scriptures that all practitioners or disciples of Zen have to learn for more than 1400 years. Because of the spread of this sutra, Zen has been rooted in China and carried forward from generation to generation. This is because master liuzu was enlightened by his five ancestors. With his extraordinary wisdom and excellent environment of the times, he inherited and opened up the world, and prospered in academic and religious freedom. Compared with the ancestors, his Dharma transmission was particularly outstanding. Therefore, Chinese Zen began from master liuzu and developed into a wonderful flower in the Buddhist and religious circles. Its light shines all over the Han nationality, and its influence has lasted for thousands of years As a result, Chinese Zen has become the most common, concrete and great achievement of Chinese Buddhism. Since modern times, Chinese Zen has been very popular
