Song of the deaf, Chinese idiom, Pinyin is l ó ngzh ě zh ī g ē. The deaf learn to sing, but they can't hear the song, so they can't enjoy themselves. In fact, I don't know the true meaning of imitating others. From Huainanzi Yuandao.

The source of the idiom is Huainanzi Yuandao: "a man's inner life is not open to the middle, but a man of strong learning is not in the ear but not in the heart. Why is this different from the song of the deaf? He can't enjoy himself if he works for people, and his voice will disperse when he speaks."
