It is a Chinese idiom. The Pinyin is k ǔ y ú NSH ā ngsu ì, which means that the harvest of a year will be affected if the cultivation is not meticulous. It comes from Xunzi Tianlun.
The idiom comes from Xunzi's Tianlun: "if you plough, you hurt your family, if you work, you lose your family." Han Ying's "Han Shi waizhuan" Volume 2: "dry farming hurts the grain, dry work hurts the year."
