Idiom story
It is said that more than three thousand years ago, King Zhou of Yin Dynasty was immoral, harsh in politics and cruel in punishment. The common people were full of complaints, and all the princes were rebellious. After King Wu of Zhou unified the northwest region, he led 45000 soldiers and 300 chariots to attack the Yin and Zhou dynasties. Eight hundred princes met in Mengjin to discuss the grand plan of defeating the enemy. At that time, Mengjin was an important ferry in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, and also an important road leading to Chaoge (now Anyang, Henan Province). When King Wu of the Zhou Dynasty set up an altar to pledge his troops to the north, Boyi and Shuqi, the two sons of King Guzhu, came to worship the horse. He accused the king of Wu and said, "can it be regarded as filial piety if your father dies and is not buried? As a minister of the Shang Dynasty, you dare to send troops against the emperor. Is that loyalty? " The soldiers around King Wu were going to kill them. Jiang Taigong immediately stopped them and said, "they are also people with good will." After that, they were pushed away, and King Wu led the team to sing a song. During the first World War in Muye (today's Qi County in Henan Province), King Zhou's slave soldiers defected one after another. King Wu conquered Chaoge, unified the world and established the Zhou Dynasty. Bo Yi and Shu Qi were ashamed to be ministers to Zhou Dynasty and to eat the grain of Zhou Dynasty. They lived in seclusion on Shouyang mountain, hungry to pick some wild fruits and vegetables, thirsty to drink some spring water to support their lives. Later, I met an old woman picking wild vegetables. The old woman asked them why, and said to them, "the whole world is the land of King Zhou, and all the people are the subjects of King Zhou. Where can you make an exception?" Boyi and Shuqi listened, so they died of drinking and eating. People buried them at the top of Shouyang mountain. The place where Boyi and Shuqi kowtowed horses for advice was later called kowtow horses. There is also a saying that Boyi and Shuqi held the reins of the horse to remonstrate, so they are also called holding the horse.
