Synopsis

Author Melvin < I > (Jack Nicholson) < / I > is a cranky old man with obsessive-compulsive disorder. He had no family and no friends, and he shut himself in all day writing novels. His life is as precise as a clock, and he can't stand any interruptions. Melvin's neighbor Simon < I > (Greg ginnier) < / I > is a young gay painter and has a cute puppy. He was lively and mild tempered, but he was often insulted by Melvin. Melvin only goes out once a day and eats at the same restaurant. Carol cornelli (Helen Hunt) < / I > is the only one willing to serve Melvin. Carol divorced and lived with her son Spencer.
