Idioms and allusions
In Han Dynasty, Han Xin was very good at using soldiers. He led his army to conquer Linzi (now Shandong Province), the capital of the state of Qi, and defeated Tian Guang, king of Qi. Liu Bang worried about Han Xin's rebellion, so he made him king of Qi in order to win people's support. At this time, the debater Kuai Tong gave advice to Han Xin. He persuaded Han Xin to betray Liu Bang and contact Xiang Yu to divide the world first and then unify the whole country. Han Xin missed the benefits of Liu Bang's treatment to him before and did not accept Kuai Tong's suggestion. After Liu Bang became emperor, he no longer trusted Han Xin, relieved his military power, weakened his power, and reduced him to Huaiyin marquis. Han Xin was very dissatisfied, so he secretly contacted Chen Chen (x ī), who was stationed in Julu, and conspired to rebel against Liu Bang. Later, Liu Bang personally led his troops to attack Chen Chen. After the plot was exposed, Han Xin was cheated into the palace by Liu Bang's wife, LV Zhi, and executed. Han Xin sighed on his deathbed: "I really regret that I didn't listen to Kuai Tong's plan and died in the hands of a woman today." Liu Bang won the attack on Chen Chen and returned to Beijing. When he heard what Han Xin had said before his death, he immediately ordered Kuai Tong to be arrested and interrogated. Liu Bang asked Kuai Tong himself, "did you persuade Han Xin to rebel?" Kuai Tong replied: "yes, Han Xin didn't listen to my plan, so he got such a result. If he had listened to my advice, how could the emperor have killed him? " Liu Bang was so angry that he ordered him to be boiled to death. Kuai Tong cried out that he was wronged and said to Liu Bang with a strong sense: "the Qin Dynasty lost the world, and heroes from all walks of life fought for the throne one after another. As a result, of course, those with outstanding ability and quick action won the first place. Liu Xiazhi's dog barks at Yao. It's not that Yao is bad, but that Yao is not his master. At that time, I was a subordinate of Han Xin. I only knew how to make suggestions for him. Of course, I didn't think about you. Moreover, at that time, there were too many heroes fighting for the world with you, just because their talent and strength were not as good as you, so they didn't achieve their goal. Can you boil all these people to death? " Liu Bang heard that he was very reasonable, so he released him.
