The film takes the Republic of China as the background, and the unique life and love experience of Xiao Hong, the legendary female writer of the Republic of China, as the introduction. The film, the closing film of the 71st Venice International Film Festival, was officially released in China on October 1, 2014. On April 19, 2015, he won the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards for best picture.
Synopsis
In the 1920s and 1940s, China was an era of full popularity and vast space. A group of young people went through a period of laissez faire, freely pursuing their dreams and love. Some people were in exile, while others were fighting for the future of their country. Xiao Hong, a maverick woman, went into exile all the way from the north to the south, from Harbin to Hong Kong. While avoiding the war, she experienced a sad and heartbreaking love and life. Her strong struggle for life and death penetrates through the back of the paper, and so does her life.
