Change one's name
To change one's name is a Chinese idiom. Pinyin is g ǎ IX ì NGG ē NGM í ng, which means to change one's original name. It mostly refers to "changing one's name" to conceal one's original identity. It's from naotongtai.

In Ming Dynasty, Wu Mingshi's "naotongtai" wedge: "today I say goodbye to my elder brother. I'm going to be busy and change my name to Lishui."
