The odd number of flying generals
Idiom story
In the Western Han Dynasty, Li Guang, the general of Zhonglang, was appointed as the governor of Shanggu on the border. He was brave and good at fighting. The Xiongnu called him the flying general, who was terrified by the news. In his life, he was not valued and rewarded by the Marquis, and finally he was forced to commit suicide. However, his cousin Li Cai was not as talented as he was, but he was an official to the prime minister. The ancients thought that odd numbers were unlucky, and Sima Qian evaluated them as "Li guanglao, odd numbers."
