[source] according to Sima Qian's biography of Lu Zhonglian and zouyang in historical records of the Western Han Dynasty, during the Warring States period, the Qin army surrounded Handan, the capital of Zhao. Lu Zhonglian, a Qi man, talked about the Minister of Zhao and Wei with interests, dissuaded him from respecting King Zhao as emperor, and said that if he was emperor, he would die in the East China Sea. After the Qin army retreated, Zhao Pingyuan gave thanks to him with thousands of gold, but Lu Zhonglian didn't accept it. He thought that it was the business of merchants to settle disputes. [example] if you are able to accept a nobility, you should cherish the wind; if you are not successful, you should be invited to stay in Bigu. In the Warring States period, the army of the state of Qin attacked the state of Zhao, and Lu Zhonglian of Qi persuaded the ministers of Zhao and Wei to stop King Zhao from becoming emperor, and said that if King Zhao became emperor, he would jump into the sea and die. After the defeat of the Qin army, Pingyuan king of the state of Zhao offered thousands of gold to reward him, but he refused to accept it.
