a fair argument
To be fair, the Chinese idiom ch í P í ngzh ī L ù n in pinyin means just opinion. It also refers to compromise. It comes from the biography of Du Yannian in the history of Han Dynasty.
Notes on Idioms
Fair: justice, no bias.
The origin of Idioms
Ban Gu's biography of Du Yannian in the book of Han in the Eastern Han Dynasty: "the discussion of Yannian is flat."
Idiom usage
It is used as an object, with commendatory meaning, to describe and compromise. This is the author's theory of fairness; if it's totally denied, it won't be a forgiveness. (the 34th chapter of Li Baojia's the appearance of officialdom in Qing Dynasty) this review has both positive and negative comments on the work, and there is no bias, so it can be regarded as a fair comment.
