A clear mind and a vague mind
The Chinese idiom is ch é ngs ī mi ǎ ol ǜ. It means to think deeply. It comes from the preface to Yao Shi'an's Yike Caotang poems and Fu.
The origin of Idioms
In the preface to Yao Shi'an's poems and Fu of Yike thatched cottage written by Zong Jichen of the Qing Dynasty, it is said that "though the clear thinking is of little concern and the smooth things are of great importance, although it is in a place of crisis and trouble, the peace it declares will not be lost."
