In the spring and Autumn period, Yanzi, the Prime Minister of the state of Qi, was named Ying. His name was pingzhong. He was short, but he had great eloquence. Once, Yanzi visited the state of Chu. The king of Chu was very impolite to the envoys of Qi because of the powerful state of Chu. When he saw Yanzi, he arrogantly asked, "is there no one in Qi? How can you send you to come?" Yanzi replied, "the people of Qi are standing shoulder to shoulder and sweating like rain. How can we say that there is no one?" the king of Chu asked, "then why did you send you?"
