Banyixicai is a Chinese idiom. Pinyin is B ā NY ī x ì C ǎ I, which means wearing colorful clothes and playing with babies to amuse parents. Later, it is used as an allusion of filial piety for old adoptive parents. From Beitang shuchao.
The origin of Idioms
Volume 129 of Beitang shuchao quoted the biography of Xiaozi as saying that Lao laizi was 70 years old and his parents were still there. He often wore striped clothes to entertain his parents.
