Life of the characters

Li Yizhuang won the imperial examination in 1510, and was a Jinshi in 1523. At the beginning, he was appointed as the magistrate of Renhe County in Zhejiang Province. Later, he served as the right chief envoy, the imperial censor of Jindu, and the governor of Guizhou. Because of the contradiction between the strategy of pacifying Miao and the general system of Yunnan and Guizhou, he was told that he was not able to pacify the rebellion and missed the military opportunity, so he resigned and went back to his hometown to concentrate on his study. He is able to write poems and articles, and his works are very abundant, but he regrets that many of them are lost. Only 15 volumes of the first draft of three continents have been published.
