Zhiyuan is a native of Qiantang (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). In the Song Dynasty, Tiantai Zongshan was an expatriate monk. According to volume 10 and volume 25 of "the history of the Buddha", Volume 4 of "the book of leisurely residence" and "a brief account of Shi's history", the common surname of Xu is Wuwai, zhongyongzi and Qianfu.

Life of the characters

He became a monk when he was young and studied Confucianism. He studied Tiantai Sect according to Fengxian Yuanqing. After Yuanqing died, he lived in seclusion in Gushan of West Lake. He is known as "Gushan Zhiyuan" or "Gushan mage" in the world. We should attach importance to the belief of pure land, advocate the integration of Confucianism and Buddhism, and advocate "self-cultivation with Confucianism and mind governance with Buddhism". Among the Tiantai Sect, his works are the richest, including Prajna Xinjing Shu, Manjusri Prajna Jing Shu, Yijiao Jing Shu, Ruiying Jing Shu, forty two chapters Jing Shu, bu Si Yi Famen Jing Shu, wuliangyi Jing Shu, guanpuxian Xingfa Jing Shu, amituo Jing Shu, shoulengyan Jing Shu (the above nine books do not exist) ”。 In addition, there are 51 volumes of Xianju Bian, 10 volumes of Weimo jinglueshuchuyu Ji, 4 volumes of the origin of Nirvana Xuanyi, 20 volumes of Nirvana Jingshu Sande Zhigui, 10 volumes of Nirvana Jingzhi dingshuke, 4 volumes of Jin ganglu and 1 volume of Prajna Xinjing Zhimou Chao. The famous disciple is Gu Shan. Huizong Chongning three years (1104), Chi Shi "Fa Hui master" number.
