Yi Qian, a native of Tongcheng, Anhui Province, was a painter and soldier in the late Qing Dynasty.

When he was young, he was a teacher in Qian's field. He built a building with golden stems and mixed bamboo, wood, flowers and stones. He always painted without much attention. He did not write much poetry. Fang Wangxi had a taste of his teacher's work. He was more than eighty years old.

Yi Qian (1902 -) was born in Xiangyin, Hunan Province. He graduated from the first normal school of Hunan Province, the advanced class of the Infantry School of the central army, and the third class of the class a general of the Army University. He has successively served as the platoon and company commander of the Eastern Route Army of the northern expedition of the National Revolutionary Army, the battalion commander of the independent second division of the sixth Route Army, the squadron leader of the first brigade, the attached and the leader of the seventh brigade of the biedong corps of the Military Commission. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he served as chief of staff and deputy division commander of the second reserve division of the 19th army in the third theater and commander of the 169 division. He participated in the Third Battle of Changsha and the battle of Zhejiang and Jiangxi. Since 1946, he has been the chief of major general training of the ninth corps of officers of the Ministry of military and political affairs, and the deputy chief of staff and acting chief of staff of the 15th appeasement command. In July 1948, he was captured by the people's Liberation Army in the Xiangfan campaign. He absconded in custody and then went to Taiwan.
